How to Review Documents
Correct extracted data and approve documents in the review queue.
The review queue is where you refine CargoLint’s extracted data. Documents with fields below 70% confidence appear here automatically, allowing you to verify, correct, and approve the extracted information before use.
Before you start
- You have documents that need review (status shows “Requires Review”)
- You understand the document type (invoice, packing list, bill of lading, or certificate of origin)
- You have access to the original physical or digital document for reference
Steps
1. Open the Review Queue
From the main navigation, select Review Queue. You’ll see a list of documents awaiting your attention, ordered by how many fields need correction.
2. Open a document for review
Click any document in the queue. The side-by-side editor opens, showing the original document image on the left and extracted fields on the right.
3. Read the confidence badges
Each extracted field displays a confidence percentage (for example, 92%, 65%, or 48%). Fields below 70% are highlighted to draw your attention. This indicates the AI was less certain about that particular value.
4. Correct fields as needed
Click any field value on the right side to edit it. The field becomes editable, allowing you to type the correct information. Compare the extracted value against the original document on the left before confirming your correction.
5. Approve the document
Once you’ve reviewed and corrected all fields below 70% confidence, click the Approve button at the bottom right. The document moves out of the review queue and is marked “Complete.”
6. Skip or defer a document
If you cannot verify a document right now, click Skip to move it to the bottom of the queue. You can return to it later. This is useful when you need access to additional information or documentation.
7. Navigate between documents
Use the Next button to move to the next document in the review queue without leaving the editor. This workflow keeps you focused and efficient when reviewing multiple documents.
Tip: Review high-confidence documents first (even though they’re not required). This builds confidence in CargoLint’s accuracy and helps you spot patterns in common mistakes.
Tip: If multiple team members are reviewing, you’ll see who last edited each document in the audit log. This prevents duplicate work.
